Fertility Spell

​ertility spells seem tricky to me. If a fertility spell is performed then it's highly likely that whoever the spell was done for is also actively trying to conceive in other ways as well. (These aren't the only spells like this, but just one that I think about a lot). So if / when conception is achieved, was it the spell which caused it? I mean obviously there's really no way of knowing, but the wonder I guess is what makes magic so... magical.

Genius Loci

My family and I move.. a lot. So everywhere we go I make sure to respect, honor, and celebrate the Genius Loci of our new home. Plant spirits have so much to offer if you only ask, and ask I do. 
While living in the Escondido hills in Southern California, I used the plants surrounding our house to create (among other things) a fertility blend. Years later, I am still using that same blend in spells that so far, have resulted in pregnancies. 

PSA:

I've got to be honest, I use to have a serious problem with getting so caught up in the moment of Witchy creation that a lot of herbal blends, spells, and ideas that I've made were never recorded. (I've sense recognized, accepted, and attempted to correct this problem.) So, there's a possibility that the list of ingredients that this fertility herbal blend contains is lacking simply because my memory isn't 100%.

*Egg Shell ; crushed[fertility]
* Dried Fruit & Leaves from Fig; Ficus Pumila [fertility]
​*Sweet Gum Spurs ; crushed as much as possible [protection]
*Gardenia; dried and  fresh petals & essential oils [health & peace]
*Pine; essential oil [strength & fertility]
*Patchouli; essential oil [love, lust, & luck]
*Corn Flower; dried flowers [love]
*Geranium; fresh petals and leaves [love & fertility]
*Dragon's Blood; powdered [protection]
*Rice; uncooked [fertility]

All of the herbs where crushed and mixed with my mortar and pestle, aside from the dried Fig, because they're hard as rocks, and mixed with the essential oils and stored in that cute little jar. (It smells amazing). 
Fast forward two years, and we were then living in Virginia desperately wanting to have another baby. It wasn't happening as easily as it did the first time and I remembered this little jar of herbs I had made and decided to do a little fertility magic. There's a number of ways I could have used the herbs (burned as loose incense, added to a poppet or sachet, added to a bath, etc), but I decided to just do a simple jar spell. Everyday I shook the jar of herbs, smelled them, and (on top of the closed jar) burned a white candle. 
And we conceived my second daughter, Athena.

Fast forward another year . . . 

One of my very best friends and her wife had been trying to conceive to no avail. I think there were two (maybe three) failed attempts and their hearts (and bank account) were hurting. So before the last attempt she asked me to wish her luck and I thought, I'll do one better.. I'll try a fertility spell! (Because I again remembered my little jar of herbs that I like to think was the cause of my pregnancy luck). So I set up a candle ritual / spell, a little different from the first.
You can see in the pictures above I used my green plate (that I use in almost all my spell work), with an egg shell holding a white candle, surrounded by rose petals (for love), a dried fig, and all of the same herbs that are in the jar (which is sitting next to the plate as you can see in a couple of the pictures). I burned the candle down while setting intentions and saying some prayers. After, I added everything from the plate, including the melted wax and egg shell, to a different jar and burned a candle over it everyday until she received the results of their latest attempt. And wouldn't ya know it... she got pregnant. 
I think it would be silly to say that she conceived solely because I worked a fertility spell. But who's to say that it didn't help? Maybe someone else will find this herbal blend as helpful and magical as I have. If you do, I'd love to hear about it!
