ALL THAT WE SEE OR SEEM IS BUT A DREAM WITHIN A DREAM - EDGAR ALLEN POE

It is my firm belief that everyone alive is psychic. Of course if you where to tell just anyone this they would either laugh and immediately dismiss the notion, or would become angry; because most christian based religions believe this gift as a trait or characteristic of "demons" and people who work with them. But I assure you it is a gift from God, and sadly one that can be, and greatly is, overlooked quite easily. Nevertheless, psychic ability / intuition / gut feeling / a sense of knowing (however you want to say it) is a natural ability that everyone is born with, just as the ability to feel or smell. But when a sense is never used and in most cases never even acknowledged, it can grow weak and hard to recognize. I believe God gave us this ability as a kind of direct line of communication with the Divine. Kind of like a Spiritual cell phone, that Spirit can call and give us a heads up or a helping hand or teach us a lesson. One of the many lines of communication that Spirit uses to access our psychic sense is through our dreams.

Yes I am a dreamer. For a dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world

Dreams, minus the psychic intuitive element, are still not fully understood in their entirety - so obviously psychic dreaming is not a widely acknowledged or credible field. However if we take into consideration the two facts that (a) everyone is gifted with psychic abilities, and (b) everyone dreams (YES everyone. According to the International Association for the Study of Dreams, many people may not remember their dreams but everyone dreams) than there are a lot of psychic dreams going unnoticed.

how to recognize

We've established that everyone dreams and everyone has psychic abilities, but that does not mean that every dream you have is of psychic nature. It's good to learn what these "special" dreams feel like so it's easier to distinguish them from normal dreams.
Personal, I find that special dreams have a way of standing out in a few different ways. They are almost
always lucid and very vivid. They often times will seem very random, so random in fact that it seems like the things within the dreams must have an alternate meaning. Even the act of sleeping itself during these dreams is different for me. Sometimes I know I may be going to have a psychic dream because of the way I feel the sudden urge to lay down and sleep. This of course happens more during the day, nap - time style, because at night the urge to sleep doesn't seem to stand out. But when I give into the urge to sleep, as soon as I lay down It's as if I pass out. And while my 'mind' is completely present within the dream, there is a part of my consciousness that is always aware and present within my physical body, and I feel very heavy and am in a deep sleep, and I find it impossible to wake up, even if my mind is consciously trying to, until the dream has been completed.
Take notice of those dreams that 'just feel weird'. If you're having lucid/vivid dreams, waking confused, having deeply symbolic dreams, or just have a feeling that you're dream was more than 'just a dream' - than you are more than likely experience a physic dream. A way to help increase your awareness and susceptibility to these 'sleep messages' is to keep a dream journal. Getting in the habit of immediately recording your dreams is a good way to increase dream recall. And you always want to record every aspect of your psychic dreams so you are able to look back at them on a later date when they may possibly be becoming a reality.

the four types of psychic dreams

A "psychic dream" does not merely describe a dream that is predicting the future. According to Keen.com, there are four types of Psychic Dreams. The first three being the most common: precognitive, telepathic, and clairvoyant. The fourth type is a little more rare, and a lot more interesting: the 'psychic spy dream'. The Shaman's Well describes this type of Psychic Dream by saying:
Some individuals have the uncanny ability to enter the psychic field of friends, acquaintances or neighbors and to dream about the intimate details of their lives. A common theme is visiting someone else's house and exploring the rooms to discover secret information that only the subject could know about or riding around with the person in their vehicle.
I experience a type of dream that is similar to this, and I would probably label it as such; where I am either witnessing an event happening to another individual (either someone I know but have not spoken to in years, or in some cases someone I haven't yet met) - or - I am experiencing an event happening to myself but as if I were a different person. I usually interpret these dreams to be showing me something that has happened in the recent past, currently happening, or is about to happen very soon. I believe Spirit gives me these dreams so that I can reach out to these people and attempt to provide some kind of help, comfort, or friendship. I'm not always successful, because it comes across as kind of weird when I contact a person that I haven't spoken to in ten years and tell them I had a dream and know what they're going through and I am here for them. But nevertheless, I try every time. I believe the main reason that we are blessed with our spiritual gifts is to function as healers. Healers for ourselves, each other, and the world.

so the next time you lay down to go to sleep, remember . . . you may wake up with a personal message from spirit.

I have been experiencing the "psychic field" dreams a lot lately and with one person in particular. I don't see things that happen to him, necessarily, but experience his emotions, or see scenes play out that describe what he is going through, emotionally.

Once, I astral travelled during an afternoon nap and I think I actually saw him and what he was doing at that moment. But he couldn't see me. Pretty fascinating stuff!

I have a love hate relationship with psychic field dreams. They are always interesting though. Most of the time they leave me feeling confused and at a loss of what to do if anything with the information I'm given.
