I GOT THE WORLD ON A STRING. SITTING ON A RAINBOW, I'VE GOT THE STRING AROUND MY FINGER

The Moon has forever been a symbol of the Goddess. The moon's cycles symbolize the female cycle and can be paired together to set powerful intentions or to let go of things that aren't serving us. Menstration.com has a great article on myths and magic of menstration...
Once a month, half the adult population of the world who aren't pregnant or menopausal lose blood. In ancient times it was noticed that a woman's monthly flow was the only time along with childbirth that blood was shed without wounding, and thus it was regarded as special .
The rituals of many traditions from Taoists to the Ancient Egyptians involved the ingestion of menstrual blood mixed with red wine to increase spiritual power. In Ancient Greece spring festivals included the spreading on the earth of corn mixed with menstrual blood to increase fertility.
So great was the belief that the power of creation existed within the blood of a woman that many myths such as the Ancient Hindu version in which all life is created from the thickened blood of the Great Mother include reference to it.
The word 'ritual' comes from 'rtu' which is Sanskrit for menses. The blood from the womb which nourished the unborn child was believed to have 'mana' or 'breath of life'.

Blood has been used in a variety of ways in many different cultures around the world sense the dawn of time. From ancient Aztec blood sacrifices, the political blood rituals of India, shedding of blood to call forth and feed spirits of the dead and of the God's, to all the modern day love spells - blood is recognized world wide for being the sacred elixir of life, capable of giving and taking away. Blood is thought to carry an unbreakable bond and an immensely powerful element of control and protection.

Menstrual blood is presently used for heavily influencing (read: controlling) others in the matters of the heart and love. The practice of having another somehow ingest your menstrual blood (most likely without their knowledge. I.e. adding it to their coffee) is said to grant you control over that person and cause the person to love, or perhaps just sexually desire you, for the rest of their lives. The same is also said about other bodily fluids of the sexual variety, but none are thought to be as strong or as compelling as the blood from a menstruating woman.

The Pagan religions of the old world all recognized and celebrated the divine significance of menstrual blood and utilized it regularly in their worship of the Goddess. In the ancient Tower of Babel (which was actually called Etemenanki by the Babylonians which translates to 'House of the foundation of Heaven and Earth' and destroyed by the Assyrian army led by Sennacherib, only to be rebuilt by Nabopolassar and made infamous in the Bible) is where menstruating Priestesses, being filled with the spirit of the great Mother Goddess, would lay sprawled on the altars, legs spread, allowing anyone and everyone to drink of the sacred 'drink of immortality'.
Even all those years ago, the ancient civilizations and Goddess cults where on to something. In present day biological science studies are revealing the incredible health benefits of  menstrual blood and the significant amount of stem cells contained therein.
The Goddess gifted 'blood of life' was unceremoniously (and unsurprisingly) stripped away from the Sacred Feminine and instead used as an analogy for the blood of Christ some 2000 years ago - however maintaining the belief of eternal life and divine power within it.

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood shall have eternal life, and I will surely raise them up again.
John 6:54

The knowledge of the incredible power of menstrual blood, known to all the ancient people, has somehow been lost and forgotten in our modern world. Even now, with knowledge of the benefits and uses of menstrual blood resurfacing, women are giving away this sacred nectar to the patriarchal ideologies and scientific studies. I think it's time to rediscover and reclaim or birth rights of the life that flows from our wombs and use it for the betterment of ourselves, in service of the Goddess, and to spark a little magic. Powerful magic.

IF INGESTING MENSTRUAL BLOOD IS A LITTLE DARK FOR YOU BUT YOU'D STILL LIKE TO USE THE BENEFITS OF YOUR LIFE ELIXIR, LOOK NO FURTHER THAN THE GARDEN.

Menstrual blood can be used, successfully I might add, as a nourishing fertilizer for your plants! If you use a Diva Cup (as you should be, sense a chemically soaked and bleached piece of plastic and processed cotton strip should probably not be inserted into or be anywhere near your Vagina) it makes it easier to collect and even store your menstrual blood. After collecting the goodies, mix it with water (to not burn or overdose your plants on mama juice) and water your plants roots or mix in with the soil.
On a magical note, adding your menstrual blood to any object, person, plant, and so on - puts your signature on it. It, in a way, will belong to you, listen to you, and show allegiance to you. So adding menstrual blood to plants intended to be used for magical purposes, such as herbs for spell work, would increase the potential for magic and pack a powerful punch.

Plants and Periods for Dummies: plants like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Period blood contains nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.. and a lot of other nice things that do good stuff for living shit.

STAY BLOODY MY FRIENDS
